Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

We want this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, navigate by keyboard, rely on magnification, or prefer reduced motion.

Standard we target

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility was part of design and development rather than added at the end.

What we have implemented

  • Colour contrast. Text and interactive colour pairings were measured rather than judged by eye. Body text measures 10.5:1 against the page background, and no text pairing below the 4.5:1 threshold is used. One brand colour that fails on light backgrounds is restricted at the component level so it cannot be applied incorrectly.
  • Keyboard navigation. All navigation, menus, and form controls are operable by keyboard. The services menu opens on focus, the mobile drawer traps nothing and closes on Escape, and a skip link is the first focusable element on every page.
  • Visible focus. A high-contrast focus ring is shown on every interactive element, and inverts on dark sections so it stays visible.
  • Semantic structure. Landmarks, ordered headings, labelled form fields, and breadcrumb trails are used throughout.
  • Images. Meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text. Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Reduced motion. Animation is minimal, and is disabled entirely for visitors whose system requests reduced motion.
  • Without JavaScript. Content and navigation remain readable and usable if scripts do not load.
  • Zoom and reflow. Layouts use relative units and reflow to narrow viewports and enlarged text.

Known limitations

We have not yet commissioned an independent accessibility audit, so we describe this as our target rather than certified conformance. We are also aware that:

  • Third-party content, if embedded in future, may not meet the same standard. We will note it here if that happens.
  • Documents offered for download may not be fully accessible. Ask us and we will provide an accessible alternative.
